About Us and Key Policy Themes

The Asia-Pacific Conference is an annual policy conference hosted at the Harvard Kennedy School, bringing together senior policymakers, diplomats, academics, and private sector leaders to examine the most pressing economic, political, and security challenges shaping the region. The conference serves as a platform for dialogue among current and future leaders on regional cooperation, governance, and economic development, with the aim of deepening understanding and collaboration across the Asia-Pacific.

The 2027 APC will take up the theme "The Asia-Pacific Century: Navigating Power, Technology, and Change” We invite participants to examine the region's shifting strategic position amid growing geopolitical uncertainty and to consider how Asia-Pacific states and institutions are adapting to a changing global order.

 

Sessions will span a mixture of panels and fireside chats addressing the following topics:

Strategic Responses in an Era of Geopolitical Uncertainty

How are Asia-Pacific countries deepening regional cooperation amid great-power rivalry, energy-market volatility, and technological competition?

Asia and the Global AI Order

 U.S.–China competition in AI capabilities : How are Asian countries developing their own strategies within an increasingly fragmented technological order.

Shifting Geopolitics Creating New Opportunities in Asia

How are geopolitical shifts reshaping investment and trade flows across the region?

Asia on the World Stage

 How the Asia-Pacific’s growing influence in entertainment, sport, and the arts is reshaping global culture?

Rethinking Energy Security in Asia

How are recent shocks driving new approaches to supply-chain resilience, infrastructure investment, and long-term energy security?

In previous iterations, APC convened ministers, ambassadors, and industry leaders from across the Asia-Pacific to tackle the region's most pressing policy challenges at Harvard Kennedy School.

The APC organizing team is building the platform to be an internationally recognized forum that inspires, surfaces ideas, and forge connections across the Pacific. We are seeking collaboration opportunities through individual giving and sponsorships. This is a unique opportunity to access the next generation of leaders at Harvard Kennedy and broader Asian community at Harvard.
