Tides of Transformation:
Asia Pacific’s Next Chapter

About Us – Asia Pacific Conference at Harvard Kennedy School

Our Mission

The Asia Pacific Conference (APC) at Harvard Kennedy School is an annual student-led conference dedicated to elevating Asia Pacific voices in global policy discussions. Established in 2024, APC serves as a premier platform for thought leaders, policymakers, and academics to engage in meaningful dialogue on the most pressing geopolitical, economic, and climate issues shaping the Asia Pacific region.

Our Vision

For too long, the Asia Pacific region has played a crucial role in global affairs while remaining underrepresented in many of the world’s leading policy forums. At APC, we are committed to ensuring that perspectives from the region take their rightful place in shaping global governance and international policy discourse. By bringing together decision-makers, scholars, and students, we foster cross-sector collaboration and knowledge-sharing that will help define the future of the region.

Our History

The Asia Pacific Conference at HKS was founded to fill a critical gap in regional discourse. Until its launch in 2024, Harvard Kennedy School had never hosted an Asia-focused regional conference in its history. Following a successful inaugural symposium, APC has now grown into a permanent annual platform that convenes distinguished speakers from across the Asia Pacific and beyond.

What We Do

Each year, APC brings together top diplomats, business leaders, policy experts, and academics to discuss key challenges and opportunities in the region. Our conference features:

  • Keynote addresses by high-level global leaders

  • Expert panel discussions on geopolitics & security, trade & economic resilience, and climate & energy policy

  • Student-led engagements to foster deeper discussions between speakers and attendees

  • Networking opportunities to connect students with leaders in policy, academia, and industry

Our Collaborating Caucuses

The Asia Pacific Conference is a joint effort of thirteen student caucuses at Harvard Kennedy School, representing a diverse range of perspectives and expertise from across the region:

  • AAPI Caucus

  • Australia & New Zealand Caucus

  • Greater China Society

  • India Caucus

  • Indonesia Caucus

  • Japan Caucus

  • Korea Caucus

  • Philippines Caucus

  • Singapore Caucus

  • South Asia Caucus

  • Southeast Asia Caucus

  • Taiwan Caucus

  • Thailand Caucus

Through this collaboration, APC brings a broad and diverse set of voices to Harvard Kennedy School, ensuring that policy conversations reflect the perspectives of those from the region itself.
